Six Types of Spiritual Gifts

God gives different spiritual gifts to his people so that we can serve each other. These gifts can be grouped into 6 categories. Select a category from the list below and click 'Apply' to see the ways that you can use your gifts to serve God and others here at St James and beyond. |
| 'Connectors' | Welcome and connect with newcomers at church |
| Accountant | Process cheques and enter data into accounting system |
| Adventurers | 2 adults rostered on to supervise kids 1-3 years |
| Auditor | Serve as Church Auditor (elected at AGM) |
| Banking Team | Counting and banking the weekly offertory. |
| Bellringers | Ringing the St James bells for weddings & special occasions |
| Bible Reader | Read the Bible at the 9am service |
| Bible Reader | Read the Bible at Morning Prayer services (2nd/4th Sundays) |
| Birthday Rollcall | Provide a birthday cake for the monthly birthday rollcall |
| Choir | Singing at 10:15AM service & special occasions |
| Collators | Collate the weekly bulletin and inserts for church (Fridays) |
| Communion Assistant | Assist in the distribution of bread & wine at communion |
| Communion Assistant | Assist at 7:45 by reading epistle/gospel & serving communion |
| Communion Assistant | Assist at 10:15 by reading the bible & serving communion |
| Communion Setup | Setup the communion table for the 9am service |
| Creche | 2 adults rostered on supervise babies to 12 mths |
| Data Projector Operator | Operate the computer that controls the data projector |
| Delivery Teams | Deliver the St James Newsletter to local residents (3 p.a.) |
| Duty Warden (10:15) | Oversee service and co-ordinate offertory. |
| Duty Warden (7:45) | Oversee service and co-ordinate offertory. |
| Encouragement | Encourage other Christians to spur them to love & good deed |
| First Aid Team | Be on hand to provide first aid assistance at services |
| Flowers | Create the flower arrangements in the church |
| Flowers | Create the flower arrangements in the Chapel |
| Gardening & Grounds | Contribute to maintaining the church lawns and gardens |
| Giving | Support ministry by Financial Giving |
| Holiday Sunday Club | Leader/assistant for Sunday program for kids in holidays |
| Home Group Leader | Leading a weekly home bible study group |
| Hospitality | Invite others to your home to share a cuppa or a meal |
| Hospitality Team | Providing catering for church events |
| Intercessory Prayer | Praying on behalf of others |
| IT and website | Provide IT and website administration |
| Kids’ morning tea supervisor | Provide 'crowd control' at kids’ food table at morning tea |
| Kids’ Song Leader | Lead the singing + actions for the kids song in church |
| Kids’ Talk | Present a 5 minulte kids' talk in church |
| Kitchen Cleaning | Cleaning team for the Memorial Hall Kitchen |
| Lunch with Friends Team | Help run a monthly lunch for seniors with Christian speakers |
| Maintenance Team | Help with repairs, odd jobs and/or working bees at church |
| Meals Ministry | Provide meals to those in need of assistance |
| Men's Breakfast Team | Run a fortnightly breakfast for Men |
| Mission Team | Promote support for global and local mission |
| Morning Tea | Provide Morning Tea after the 9am Service |
| Morning Tea | Provide Morning Tea after the 10:15am Service |
| Morning Tea | Provide a monthly morning tea after the 7:45am service |
| Mt Druitt Support | Pack and deliver second hand goods to Mt Druitt Anglican |
| Office Helpers | Provide support for the office by assisting with tasks |
| OH&S Team | Oversee risk management & occupational health & safety |
| One-to-one Discipling | Meeting with another Christian to Read-Pray-Share |
| Organist | Play the organ for the 7:45am service on a monthly basis |
| Parenting | Teach and model Christian principles to your children |
| Parish Council | Serve on the Parish Council (elected at AGM) |
| Pastoral Carer | Visiting and caring for the elderly, less mobile or ill. |
| Personal Evangelism | Sharing the good news of salvation with others |
| Prayer | Lead the prayers at the 9am service |
| Sanctuary Guild | Preparing the sanctuary (esp. church linen) for services |
| Saturday Prayer Group | Praying for the needs of the parish and the world |
| Scripture (Mt Druitt) | SRE Ministry in partnership with St James, Mt Druitt |
| Scripture Teacher (SRE) | Teaching Special Religious Education (SRE) in local schools. |
| Service Leader | Lead the 9am Service |
| Service Warden | Oversee the collection, head count and organisation |
| Sidesperson (Welcomer) | Welcome people to church and handout bulletins etc |

| Singer / Musician | Sing or play a musical instrument at the 9am Service |
| SNC Sound Desk | Operate the Sound Desk during SNC |
| Sound System | Set up and operate the sound system at the 9am service |
| Sunday Club Assistant | Assist in leading a Sunday Club class |
| Sunday Club Teacher | Prepare and teach a Sunday Club class |
| Tape and Recording Ministry | Provide access to St James sermons on tape, CD and web |
| The Ministry of the Pew | Minister from the pew to strengthen others & grow the church |
| Tidy Team | Tidy the church on Monday mornings |
| Transport Ministry | Providing transport to church/events for the less mobile |
| Unofficial Welcomer | Welcome and connect with newcomers around you in church |
| Warden | Serve as Parish Warden (elected at AGM) |
| Youth Ministry | A team of young adults who minister to youth |
